July 2019
w-IMS RCM is used to develop a Maintenance strategy for equipment based on a Reliability Centered Maintenance assessment. The following release notes describe the new functionality and improvements in version 3.10b.
Besides stabilizations, version 3.10b contains enhanced functionality for Equipment Care Strategies, Bulk Assignment of Functional Failures and Failure Modes, and Labels management.
Equipment Care Strategies
IMSFB-9077
A new functionality was added: ECS – Equipment Care Strategies. This is a collection of preventive maintenance tasks for certain types of Equipment in certain situations. The tasks are based on the Shell Equipment Care Strategy specification document.
The functionality will allow the RCM User to define sets of preventive ECS Tasks, and to combine them into different ECS Strategies, available under one ECS specification, valid for a set of G-SAP Object Types or Location Types.
The ECS functionality can be enabled in My Account in the Main Grid Settings.

1. Equipment Care Strategies main screen
There is a new ECS main screen to handle all Equipment Care Strategies management activities. It contains:
- Functionality to Add New ECSs (through the “+” sign)
- a List of already created ECSs, showing:
- ECS name
- Description
- Revision
- Revision status
- Date
- Equipment Type covered by ECS
- Number of assigned Equipment
- Location Type covered by ECS
- Number of assigned FLOCs
- a Toolbar Button for creating a new ECS revision
- other common functionalities on Toolbar
- a Search field
- a Filter field

2. Add New ECS functionality
IMSFB-10780
The option to Add New ECSs is available to Users with the RCM Admin role:

3. Equipment Care Strategies details screen
IMSFB-10776
Upon the creation of the ECS, the ECS detail is visible on the details screen. On this screen, Users with the RCM Admin role can edit all the details, as well as create ECS tasks, and combine them into ECS strategies.

4. New ECS Task functionality
IMSFB-10789
All the ECS tasks are listed in the Available Tasks table in the ECS details screen. The Create New ESC Task option is available through the + sign in the upper left corner of the Available Tasks table.

In the Create New ESC Task dialog box, the User can specify:
- Task name (mandatory)
- Applicable for
- Frequency (single value or bandwidth)
- Schedule Type
- Typical POC
- Implementation System
The Task is picked from the Inspection Techniques list. If the desired Inspection Technique does not exist, the User can create a new one.
5. Edit ECS Task functionality
Any created Task can be edited, by clicking the Edit button on the left of the Task’s row.

6. Delete ECS Task functionality
Created Tasks can be deleted, using the check box on the left of the row, to select a Task, and clicking the “-” sign in the upper left corner of the table.
7. Create New ECS Strategy functionality
IMSFB-10798
All the ECS Strategies and the assigned Tasks are listed in the Strategies pivot table on the ECS details screen. Rows from the Available Tasks table are shown as columns. The Create New ESC Strategy option is available through the “+” sign in the upper left corner of the table.

In the Create New ESC Strategy dialog box, Users can specify:
- Strategy name (mandatory)
- Tasks that should be available for that Strategy
8. Delete ECS Strategy functionality
Created Strategies can be deleted, using the check box on the left of the row, to select a strategy, and clicking the “-” sign in the upper left corner of the table.
9. Approve ECS functionality
IMSFB-11273
There is a revision control mechanism implemented in the ECS functionality. One ECS can be in one of the following three statuses:
- DRAFT – a state in which the ECS can be edited but not assigned to Equipment / FLOCs
- APPROVED – a state in which the ECS can be assigned to Equipment / FLOCs but not edited
- OBSOLETE – a state when an active ECS is replaced by its newer revision

After the adjustments to ECS Tasks and ECS Strategies of one ECS, but prior to assigning to Equipment, the user with the RCM admin role should approve the ECS and hence freeze the document i.e. put it in a uneditable state. This action cannot be undone.

If a revision to be approved is not a base one but some higher, the precedent revision will be put in the OBSOLETE status, and the user will be warned that the approval of the revision will have an impact on all Equipment / FLOCs to which an older revision of the ECS was assigned.

10. Open New ECS revision functionality
IMSFB-11274
When an approved ECS must be modified, a new revision should be created and put in the DRAFT status. For opening a new revision there is a dedicated button on the ECS toolbar which opens a dialog box on which the user must enter a new revision number which must be different than the old one.

11. ECS Maintenance TA interval on Plant and Unit level
IMSFB-11094
A new ECS Maintenance TA interval was created on the Plant and on the Unit level (visible to RCM Users only) to facilitate the assignment of the turnaround Tasks with frequency bandwidth.
The ECS Maintenance TA interval can be set on the Plant and on the Unit level in Settings / Company / Toplevel on the Details tab.
The interval set on the Unit level overrides the one set on the Plant level.

12. ECS Pitstop interval on Plant and Unit level
IMSFB-11094
A new ECS Pitstop interval was created on the Plant and on the Unit level (visible to RCM Users only) to facilitate the assignment of the pitstop tasks with frequency bandwidth.
The ECS pitstop interval can be set on the Plant and on the Unit level in Settings / Company / Toplevel on the Details tab.
The interval set on the Unit level overrides the one set on the Plant level.

13. Assign ECS Strategy to Equipment
IMSFB-10804
The created ECS strategies can be assigned to an Equipment on the Equipment details screen by choosing from the list of applicable strategies based on an Equipment / FLOC type.
The ECS Strategy field can be found in the “Misc” region of the Equipment details.

Upon clicking on the magnifier icon, the user will receive a selection of the strategies applicable to that Equipment type, together with the detailed information about the tasks included in every strategy. Upon selecting the desired strategy, he can assign it to equipment.

14. Schedules
IMSFB-10816
Upon assignment of the Strategy, a new Schedule of ECS Type is created.

15. Recommended tasks
IMSFB-10818
Upon assignment of the Strategy, all the Tasks contained in the Strategy are included in the Recommended Tasks and marked as ECS in the Task Origin column.

16. Bulk Assign of ECS Strategy to Equipment
IMSFB-10809
The created ECS Strategies can be assigned to an Equipment in bulk, using the dedicated button on the Equipment toolbars.
Prior to invoking the assignment, the User is advised to filter the Equipment, using the SAP Type filter, to make sure all selected Equipment are covered by one ECS. Then, a desired Strategy can be selected from the Strategies available in that ECS.

17. “% RCM analyzed” KPI updated
IMSFB-10821
The “% RCM analyzed” KPI was updated: all Floc or Equipment with an ECS strategy assigned, are now counted as analyzed.
On the Overview of Priority dashboard:

On the RCM Global dashboard (Analyzed and Critical Analyzed columns):
Bulk Actions
IMSFB-8939
The RCM Bulk actions functionality provides the following functionalities:
- Bulk assignment of FLOCs/Equipment to System
- Bulk assignment of FLOCs/Equipment to System’s Functional Failure
- Bulk assignment of FLOCs/Equipment Failure Modes to System’s Functional Failure
- Bulk assignment of Labels to FLOCs/Equipment assigned to a System
The RCM Bulk action is invoked by selecting the FLOCs/Equipment from the grid and then pressing the button on the FLOC or Equipment tab toolbar.

A User can choose one of the following bulk assignment techniques:
- Use a template saved in an earlier bulk assignment action
- Use a template from an already assigned Equipment / FLOC
- Manual, by defining the bulk assignment process step-by-step

Upon selection of one of the methods, a wizard will guide the User through the steps of selecting applicable Functional Failures and Failure Modes.
2. Manually defining the bulk assignment
When manually defining the bulk assignment, the User first selects the System, then the belonging Functional Failures, and then the belonging Failure Modes. If he is satisfied with any of those steps and do not want to go further into detail, he can skip following steps up to Label Assignment.
All the selected Equipment / FLOCs will be added to all the Functional Failures selected in the wizard, but the selected Failure Modes will be added individually only to the Equipment / FLOCs, which are related to the Location Types for which the Failure Modes are valid.
The maximum number of Equipment / FLOCs per bulk action session is 100.

Finally, the User can choose to assign Labels to the System.
1.1. Final preview before the assignment
On the final screen the preview of the assignment (System, Functional Failure, and Failure Mode) is shown. In the Bulk Action Name field, a default name for the template is given in the form of “username-date-time”.

2. Using a previously saved template
A previously saved templates can be selected in the Use saved bulk action as template and the subsequent dialog box.
When using this technique, the manual steps are skipped, and the User is led to the Final preview screen.

3. Using Equipment / FLOC as template
An Equipment / FLOC already assigned to a System can be used as a template, by selecting the Use equipment as template and choosing the Equipment / FLOC in the subsequent dialog box.
When using this technique, the manual steps are skipped, and the User is led to the Final preview screen.

4. Remapping Functional Failures / Failure modes
In the case that the analysis is not automatically assigned to new System Functional Failures / Failure Modes, the User has two choices: to manually remap all analysis pending from the previous system, or to delete it.
In the Selected FLOCs/Equipment and Prioritisation section of the System details screen, there is a new “Pending Analysis” column. If the tag has a pending analysis, it will contain an exclamation mark.

Clicking the Remap Analysis button, in the table toolbar, opens a dialog box. Here the User can choose a new value from the dropdown list for all Functional Failures from the old System.

Selected values can be applied to all records in the grid using a drag function.
If the remap is not necessary, the pending analysis can be deleted using the Delete button.
Labels management
IMSFB-9084
Labels Management functionality was added in the Settings / Maintenance / Common Data, which enables the User to edit Labels.

Now the User can:
- Edit the Label
- Delete the Label
- Export Label list to Excel
- Search the Labels

1. Editing Labels
When editing the Label, the User can:
- Modify the Label name
- Modify the Label description
- Change the Label color

2. Adding / Removing Labels both on Analysis and FLOC/Equipment at the same time
IMSFB-9082
An option was added on the Analysis screen for the User to add or delete Labels to an Analysis and to the belonging Tags (FLOCs/Equipment) at the same time.

Various usability enhancements
1. Moving Equipment/FLOCs to another Functional failure within the same System
IMSD-11503
A functionality for moving Equipment/FLOCs assigned to a Functional failure to a different functional failure within the same system is added. Now the user can move tags together with their failure modes and analysis to a selected functional failure within the same system.

If a Tag with the same Failure mode already exists in the destination Functional Failure, the Tag will not be moved because the system do not allow duplicates. The user is clearly informed of this behavior.

2. New entry in the Task - Implementation System field
A new entry, “UTL”, was added to the Implementation System field in Tasks.

3. Strategy import in the RCM Analysis screen
IMSFB-10322
A Strategy can now be imported for the RCM Analysis. First Overwrite strategy result must be enabled. The User can then select one of the predefined values in the list.

4. New field in the RCM Analysis screen
IMSFB-10107
A new entry column, “FLOC description”, was added to the Analysis grid, so this field is now also available in the RCM Analysis export to Excel.
The visibility of the field is set to hidden in the default status, so the User must enable it in the Settings dialog box, if he wants this to be shown on screen.

Visual Changes
1. Dropped the Assign to System button on the Equipment / FLOC toolbar
The button Assign to System on the Equipment / FLOC toolbar is not available anymore this making the user interface sleeker because this functionality is integrated in the new and improved Bulk Assign function.

2. Changed button label in Change / Deferral
IMSD-10908
The label of the button for disapproving the Change / Deferral request is changed from Disapprove to Reject.

3. Show the Time and Date after approval in Change / Deferral
IMSD-11290
Now the full format of date and time is shown on the Change / Deferral Approval Stage and Implementation Stage grid upon approval (not only the date).

4. Changed the wording on the System - Selected FLOCs/Equipment dialog box
IMSD-11288
The label for including FLOCs / Equipment to show changed from “Show tags not yet assigned to a system” to “Show tags not yet assigned to current system” so is now clearer what is shown in the grid.
