Respecting Due Dates in RCM Schedules

RCM tasks are typically recurring, used to mitigate the risk of a Failure Mode. Some tasks, however, are date-driven and must respect a fixed due date instead.

Where these schedules are created

RCM schedules that respect a due date are created the same way as any other RCM schedule — under a FLOC or Equipment.

Items that follow a due date

Due-date scheduling typically applies to items where a fixed deadline matters more than a recurring interval — for example, tools, utility equipment, vehicles, and instruments that must be recertified, inspected, or replaced by a specific date.
