RSL Care Strategies provide decision logic that determines, based on FLOC and Equipment data (for example, Specs), whether a task can be applied.
In addition to the Location type, Equipment group and CMMS type, you can also rely on criteria from the FLOC and Eq Specs to steer RSL application.
In the example of a control valve, reliability relevant aspects related to buildup, application, and operation can involve, for instance, these Specs:

The decision logic applied to tasks can cover multiple Specs per task involving value ranges and AND/OR logic.
The Specs on the FLOC and Equipment can originate from a connected CMMS like SAP (interfaced) and a subset of Specs specified in IMS.
WHY
Client interest requested more powerful functionality to assign maintenance strategies to FLOCs and Equipment.
For instance, when FLOC and Equipment Specs are available from SAP, it is good practice to selectively assign maintenance strategies.
Alternatively, when applying Selective RSL's, you can use the specs to select a particular FLOC or Equipment and assign multiple individual RSLs to it.
A possible situation where a more powerful maintenance strategy assignment can be relevant is in the detailed engineering phases of capital projects, where it can be used to deliver preventive maintenance plans.
