SIF Analysis Details Page Overview
The SIF Analysis Details Page is used to record all the SIF Analysis information. The SIF design itself mainly takes place on the Design Tab. The aim is to design the Subsystems in terms of their Equipment Actuators and Test Intervals, such that the Achieved PFD is equal or higher than the Target PFD, while ensuring that the Success Criteria, Fault Tolerance, and Performance are all OK. See also the SIF Analysis Steps.
Opening a SIF Analysis
To open a SIF Analysis Details Page, click on the desired SIF Analysis ID hyperlink in the SIF Analysis Main Screen, or LOPA Details Page (or any other screen).
The SIF Analysis details page can be divided into a header and several Tabs.
Header
The header of the Detail Page shows the SIF Analysis ID and a few functional options.
The SIF Analysis Details Page header icons:
Icon | Action / Name | Description |
---|---|---|
Analysis Name | The unique SIF Analysis name. | |
Active / Inactive | If there is a green underline for the Analysis ID, it means the SIF Analysis is active, which means that there is an Approved version of the SIF Analysis. Inactive will show as “grey”. (A SIF Analysis is first inactive. After the first Approval it becomes active and remains so, also when a new Draft version is created.) | |
Event History | The Event History shows the list of events that has been performed for this SIF Analysis. | |
Pin | The PIN feature allows the user to pin down all related objects (e.g., LOPAS) based on this SIF Analysis. | |
Action items | Add view and manage action items for the SIF Analysis. The number of Actions created will show. If new Actions have been created, the button will say “Add”. | |
Print specific sections of the page, click on the button to select sections you wish to add to the print. | ||
Previous and Next | Navigation feature for moving to a previous and next SIF Analysis from the overview. |
Side Tabs
On the side of the Analysis Details Page, you will find several Tabs. These can be used to navigate to the different sections of the Analysis. By default, the General Tab will be selected when you open an Analysis. The information shown on the tabs will apply to the Analysis version (see Section 8.6) that is open at the time. The side Tabs:
Icon | Tab Name | Description |
---|---|---|
General | Here the SIF is defined in terms of Subsystems, the connected LOPA & SIL requirement, and Assessment Details. See General Tab. | |
Team Composition | Here you can specify the Start Date and End Date for your SIF Analysis (Meeting details) and the Team Composition. You can also document the times when the Participants worked on the SIF Analysis, via an attendance register. See Team Composition Tab. | |
Design | The SIF Design takes place here: Define Success Criteria, verify Fault tolerance, Tune and set Test Intervals, calculate Achieved PFD, verify Performance, verify Response Time. See Design Tab. | |
Revision history | Here both the Active and (previously) Approved SIF Analysis versions are shown. See Revision History Tab. | |
Documents | Here you can add Attachments, Drawings, and other Documents to the Analysis. See Documents Tab. | |
Regulations | This tab can be used to list the country specific authority Regulations, e.g., EC Pressure Equipment Directive (PED). Per Regulation you can indicate if the Design complies. See Regulations Tab. | |
Overall Notes | Notes intended to support the SIF Analysis can be added here. See Overall Notes Tab. | |
Recommendations Summary | All the Recommendations are entered here. These are intended to recommend changes to the process design or inclusion of other protection layers. See Recommendations Tab. |
