SIF Design Tab Layout

This tab is used to do the SIF Design. The aim is to design the Subsystems in terms of their Equipment Actuators and Test Intervals, such that the Achieved PFD is equal or higher than the Target PFD, while ensuring that the Success Criteria, Fault Tolerance, and Performance are all OK.

The SIF Analysis Steps should be followed during the design.

The SIF Analysis design tab has three areas:

  1. SIF Analysis Details
  2. Subsystem Details
  3. Approval Area.

The SIF Analysis Details repeat what is also shown on the Details section of the Icon  Description automatically generatedGeneral tab. You can collapse this area to create more space.

The Subsystems Details is where most of the design takes place. This is where you can further define your Subsystems, define Success Criteria, and verify Fault Tolerance and Performance.

The Approval area is used verify the Achieved PFD and Response time. To finally Approve the design, click the Approve button to open the Approval pane.
