Release 4.3

Note: These Release Notes only cover specific SIS enhancements. All other enhancements, not related to specific disciplines, are described in the IMS Platform (General) Release Notes.

Subsystems Management Improvements

SIF Designers can now edit Subsystem parameters either via the SIS Subsystem Settings or directly within the SIF Analysis, on both the General and Design tabs.

When changes are made from the SIF Analysis

  • When the Subsystem is only used in Draft SIF Analyses:

    • Changes to Subsystem Details—such as Name, Type, Plant/Unit, Description, TI Alignment, TSO Requirements, and Target Accuracy—are automatically synchronized across all linked SIF Analyses. Note: Changing the Subsystem Type will automatically remove any existing Equipment.

    • These changes are also reflected in the SIS Settings.

    • Subsystem Design changes (e.g., Equipment, Tests) are not synchronized initially. However, once the SIF Analysis containing the updated Subsystem is Final Approved, all linked SIF Analyses will inherit the changes.

  • When the Subsystem is used in one or more Final Approved SIF Analyses:

    • In this case it is not allowed to change the Subsystem Type from the SIF Analysis.

    • Changes to the Subsystem will not immediately affect the linked SIF Analyses. However, once the SIF Analysis containing the updated Subsystem is Final Approved, all linked SIF Analyses will revert to Draft and inherit the changes.

    • Changes will also not be reflected in the SIS Settings immediately, but only after the SIF Analysis containing the updated Subsystem is Final Approved.

When Changes are made from the SIS Settings

If any of the following Subsystem Details are modified from the SIS Settings, then all SIF Analyses using that Subsystem will automatically revert to Draft and inherit the changes:

  • Type (Note: any existing Equipment in the SIF Analysis will be removed)

  • Name

  • Plant / Unit

  • Align TI

  • Target Accuracy (for Sensor Subsystems)

  • TSO Required (for FE Subsystems) - including related fields when selected

Report Improvements

The SIS reports have been improved in number of ways.

Latest and Last Final Approved Version available from Main Screen grid

For SIF Analysis and LOPA reports, users can now choose to print either the Latest version or the Last Final Approved version directly from the Main Screen (grid view). The desired version can be selected from a dropdown when generating the report.

In case you want to print a report for an older version of the study, you can go directly to the Details Page, select the relevant version via the Revision History tab and generate the report.

SIF Analysis Report Improvements

Review Status

The Review status of the SIF Analysis is now included in the SIF Analysis Details section of the report.

Related Equipment

The Related Equipment section has been separated, adding a clarification note at the beginning of the section.

Team Composition Tab improved and renamed to Study Details

The Team Composition tab for HAZOP, LOPA, and SIF Analysis has been renamed to “Study Details”, with several improvements introduced. The most notable enhancement is the ability to define multiple Sessions per Study. For each Session, you can specify the team composition and track attendance. To streamline the process, you can copy the details, including participants and attendance, from an existing Session and then edit as needed. Additionally, a complete list of all IMS SIS Study Sessions is now available in IMS Settings for easy reference.

Additionally, each Study now includes a Study Name, which can be edited by the user. The Creation Date and Final Approval Date of the Study (both automatically generated by IMS) are displayed in the Study Details, while each Session is assigned a Start Date and End Date, which can be updated as needed.

You can find more screencaps and step by step instructions in HAZOP Study Details Tab.
