Using IMS4Field in Online Mode (for Collaboration)

Online Mode in IMS4Field is designed to allow for collaboration between team members. With Online Mode, you can work with others and see changes recorded by other users in near-real time by clicking the Refresh button.

Take Note

IMS4Field Online Mode is an experimental feature.

To avoid potential data integrity issues, users should avoid working on the same Stage in a Checklist at the same time.

Enable Online Mode

To enable Online Mode:

  • Open the hamburger menu at the top of the right-hand pane in IMS4Field.

  • Click Settings to access the Settings Menu.

Open the Settings Menu.

  • The option to "Work online" can be toggled on or off.

Click the Work Online toggle.

After returning to the main IMS4Field dialog, IMS4Field will display an indicator in the top right corner of the window.

Disabling Online Mode

Disabling Online Mode will return IMS4Field to the default Local Mode, allowing you to use IMS4Field in areas with poor network connectivity. To disable Online Mode:

  • Return to the IMS4Field Settings dialogue.

  • Click the Online Mode Toggle.

View Changes Made by Others

To load new information added by other users in Online Mode:

  • Click the Refresh button.

Click the Refresh button to load any changes. 

Any changes or additions to the Checklist will be displayed in IMS4Field.
