Anomaly Details Page

This page of the IMS Handbook explains how to use and interpret the Anomaly Details Page.

To open an Anomaly’s Details Page, click its ID from the Main Screen grid or from any Anomaly sub-section on a related page. The Anomaly Details Page is divided into a number of Sections, described below:

The header displays the Anomaly ID, the current Anomaly Status, and a number of navigation options.

Details Section

The Details section of the Anomaly Details Page contains some basic information regarding the Anomaly.

The fields are summarized in the table below:

Field

Description

Name

Read-only identifier, assigned by IMS.

Short Description

Short free-text description. Editable after creation.

Equipment / Equipment Description

The linked Equipment. Read-only after creation.

Identified Date

Date first identified. Editable after creation.

Anomaly Type

Classification, optionally scoped to specific inspection methodologies. Editable after creation.

Anomaly Status

Current status of the Anomaly (e.g. Open, Closed, Not Anomalous). Setting this to a closed (inactive) status closes the Anomaly and triggers automatic closure tracking. See Closing an Anomaly.

Responsible Person

Person responsible for the Anomaly.

Hazard and Release Scenario

Free-text notes on hazard and release scenario.

Risk Mitigation Controls

Free-text notes on risk mitigation controls.

Northing / Easting / Longitude / Latitude / KP / Elevation

Location fields, where applicable. Editable after creation.

Description

The Description section is a rich-text narrative field which can be used to provide a detailed description of the Anomaly.

Findings Section

The Findings Section is a tabbed section that traces where an Anomaly’s findings and measurement evidence originated. Which tabs are visible depends on the active module.

CML & Measurement Set tab (PEI, Civil)

Shows all measurement sets linked to this Anomaly, with group-by filtering by CML, Circuit, or Measurement Set.

CML columns: Circuit, Sub Circuit, CML, CML Description, CML Type, Active, Nominal WT.

Measurement Set columns: Name, Status, Measurement Date, Number of Measurements, Technician.

Findings tab (PEI, Civil, PLSS)

Shows Dynamic Form entries linked to this Anomaly: Dynamic Form Name, Section, Action, Field Value. Individual links can be detached here without altering the underlying inspection data.

Codes tab (PLSS only)

Shows legacy PLSS checklist data linked to this Anomaly: Condition Date, Actions Performed, Conditions Found, Finding, ECH Name, Schedule Name.

Assessment Section

The Assessment Section displays a detailed list of Anomaly Assessments completed for the current Anomaly. To learn more about Anomaly Assessments, see: Performing an Anomaly Assessment.

Anomaly data, when available, is embedded in the Details Pages of related entities (Equipment, Circuit, Schedule, ECH) so that users do not have to return to the main grid and filter.

Anomaly Sub-section

Equipment Details

An Anomalies tab with a count badge. Lists every Anomaly linked to the Equipment. The “+” action creates a new linked Anomaly.

Circuit Details

An Anomalies tab with a count badge. Aggregates Anomalies linked through both the CML and Measurement Set paths, de-duplicated.

Schedule Details

An Anomalies subsection below the Dynamic Forms section, visible only when Anomalies exist. Lists every Anomaly linked to the Schedule through any of its assessments.

ECH Details

A card section listing Anomalies created on that ECH (Anomaly ID, Short Description, Condition Date, Anomaly Status, Anomaly Type). Always visible, with an empty state when none are linked.

The Equipment and ECH sub-sections always show (with a “0” badge or empty state). The Schedule subsection is hidden entirely when no Anomalies are linked. The Circuit count de-duplicates Anomalies that arrive via both the CML and Measurement Set paths.
