Anomaly Main Screen

This section of the Handbook explains how to use and interpret the Anomaly Main Screen.

The Anomaly Main Screen shows a Grid of all registered Anomalies across PEI, Civil, and PLSS. To open it:

  • Click Anomalies in the IMS Main Menu.

By Default, The Anomalies Main Grid opens grouped by Active = True by default; clicking Clear all filters restores this default.

The Anomalies Main Screen follows the same basic structure as the other Main Screens in IMS. To learn more about the features in common with other Main Screens, see: IMS Main Screen (Grid List).

Enabling the Anomalies Main Menu

Depending on your User Role, the Anomalies Main Menu might not be enabled by default. To enable the Anomalies Menu:

  1. Click My Account in the top menu.

  1. Click Edit at the top of the My Account Page.

  1. Ensure that Anomalies is selected in the grid on the right-hand side.

  2. Click Save.

The Anomalies option will now be available in the IMS Main Menu.

Anomalies Grid Columns

The following columns are shown by default. Additional columns are available from the column chooser (Settings icon in the toolbar).

Column

Description

Checkbox

Select one or more rows for bulk actions or reporting.

Anomaly ID

Unique identifier generated by IMS. A green stripe indicates the Anomaly is active; a grey stripe indicates it is inactive. Click the ID to open the Details Page.

Short Description

User-entered short description.

Equipment / Equipment Description

The linked Equipment and its description.

Identified Date

Date the Anomaly was first identified.

Revision Date / Revision Nr

Date and number of the latest Assessment revision.

Anomaly Type

Classification (e.g. corrosion, crack, dent).

Anomaly Status

Current status of the Anomaly (e.g. Open, Closed, Not Anomalous).

Anomaly Response

The response selected in the latest Assessment.

Unmitigated Risk

Risk grade before controls, colour-coded from the latest Assessment.

Mitigated Risk

Risk grade after controls, colour-coded from the latest Assessment.

RBI Criticality

Single-letter criticality code sourced from the linked Equipment.

Active Uncredited Schedules

Open inspection schedules linked to this Anomaly, shown as clickable links.

Next Due Date

Earliest upcoming inspection date; shown in red when overdue.

First Credited Schedule

The earliest active credited schedule, as a clickable link.

Last Assessment Date

Date of the most recent Assessment revision.

Closed on

Date the Anomaly was closed (blank while open).

Closure time (days)

Number of days from Identified Date to Closure Date (blank while open).

Responsible Person

Person responsible for the Anomaly.

Unit

Unit from the Equipment hierarchy.

The following columns hidden by default (available from the column chooser): Visible In, Owner, Unmitigated Risk Note, Mitigated Risk Note, Assessment Description, Assessment Modified By, Assessment Modified Date, Reviewed By, Reviewed Date, Hazard and Release Scenario, Risk Mitigation Controls, FLOC Name, FLOC Type, FLOC Description, Equipment CMMS Type, FLOC CMMS Type, Created Date, Created By.

Info Panel

Click the Info (i) button on any row to split the screen. A right-hand panel opens showing the selected Anomaly’s assessments, description, and attachments - all editable in place without navigating away from the Main Screen. The panel reloads when the selected row changes.

Filtering and Grouping Anomalies

From the Anomalies Main Page, several filters can be used to drill down the search results for the shown list of Equipment. Some examples of filters include:

  • Date-range filters: Identified Date Range, Revision Date Range, Closed on Range.

  • Group-by filters: Active, Anomaly Status, Anomaly Type, Anomaly Response, Schedule Missing (Yes/No), Action Missing (Yes/No), Visible In, Owner, Tag Labels, Equipment Group/Class, Planned Schedule.

  • Use Schedule Missing or Action Missing (or both) to find Anomalies awaiting a follow-up action.

To filter a list:

  • Click on the filter button.

  • Check the filters that you want to use.

  • Click Show ….

Deleting Anomalies

To delete an Anomaly from the Anomalies Main Grid:

  1. Select the Anomalies that you wish to delete.

  2. Click Delete in the Toolbar.

  3. Confirm your selection in the dialog that pops up.

Note

Deleting Anomalies (individually or in bulk) is blocked where any linked inspection finding belongs to an ECH that has reached Final Approval status.
