Article summary

Often, it can be more efficient to create a copy of an existing Dashboard and to customize it to your liking instead of creating a Dashboard from scratch. Learn how to copy, or clone, an existing Dashboard below.

Create a Copy/Clone of a Dashboard

To create a copy or clone of an existing Dashboard:

  • Open an existing Dashboard from the Dashboard selection dropdown box.

  • Click the three dots menu in the top right corner of the Dashboard.

  • Select Save as (clone).

Save a Copy of an Existing Dashboard.

  • Next, fill in the fields on the Dasdboard: Save as (clone) dialog.

    • Name: Auto-populated with the name of the original Dashboard plus the suffix copy by (Username) (1).

    • Description: Auto-populated with text containing the original Dashboard name and date of creation.

    • Visibility: Set the visibility to Public, or Public and editable only by owner, if you want the Dashboard copy to be visible to all users. Otherwise, select Private.

  • Click Save.

Fill in the Fields, and Click Save.

Your cloned Dashboard will be created and opened in your browser upon saving.
