Article summary

The HAZOP grid is organized as cards (cells). Several keyboard shortcuts have been enabled to accelerate the navigation and the editing of the cells, like in an Excel worksheet. These are summarized in the table below .

The actions depend on the mode that you are in. You can either be in Cell mode or Edit mode. When in Cell mode, you can navigate between cells and Cut, Copy, Paste, Add, and Delete cells as desired. When in Edit mode, you can enter text in the description field of the selected cell. To change between Edit and Cell mode, press <F2> or just double click on the card:

  • Cell mode: Cell (card) is selected (highlighted in blue).
  • Edit mode: Blinking cursor in cell, with blue border around cell.

IMS will suggest:

-    On Deviation cards: Parameter and Guide combinations.

-    On other cards: Equipment. The Equipment will be added to the selected card. It will also be added as a link in the description field.

In addition to the suggestions, you can also use the search.

This action is available only for Consequences. When different Causes have the same Consequence, you can copy the Consequence from one Cause and the Paste & Link the Consequence to the other Cause.

All the Consequence child elements (Existing safeguards and Recommendations) will then automatically be replicated and linked as well.

When elements are linked, they will always be synced, with one exception: On the Existing safeguard the Validation section remains unlinked. This way it is possible to indicate an Existing safeguard as Not Valid for a specific Cause-Consequence combination.

(Nodes, Deviations and Causes cannot be linked.)

For more information see Linking Consequences.
