Fabric Maintenance Overview
This online manual explains Fabric Maintenance (FM) in IMS, i.e., how to:
Create & Edit AREA-FLOCs & assign multiple FLOCs to them.
Create & Edit AREA Equipment.
Create & Edit CAIRs with a FM Checklist (and link to Planned Events).
Create & Edit ECHs with a FM Checklist.
Use the FM Dashboards.
Fabric Maintenance (FM) in IMS makes it possible to align the FM work with the SAP FLOCs. This way all FM work can be managed as CAIRs, aligned with the different FM Areas (AREA-FLOCs).
There are two FM User Roles (editor and viewer) in IMS PEI. The FM Role will give you a lite / decluttered IMS PEI view, i.e., you will see only the needed menus and functions.
For FM you can use AREA-FLOCs to group multiple FLOCs together. This way FM Areas are recreated in IMS and the applicable PEI and Civil FM CAIRs can be grouped according to the FM Areas. You can also directly assign AREA Equipment to the AREA-FLOC. The AREA-FLOC includes important design data for prioritization, namely Total Surface of the AREA-FLOC, its PEI, CIVIL and Total Weight as well as its Condition (Poor, Fair or Good).
You can create CAIRs (linked to Planned Events) for the required FM work and then credit them with ECHs when the work is done. Both the CAIRs and ECHs will have a special FM Dynamic Form Checklists for you to use.
The FM data can also be visualized with a KPI Dashboard.
Lastly 2D maps are available to enable further prioritization in terms of risk and due dates. These maps also help with planning other (non-FM) work, as relevant PEI and Civil information is included here.
