July 2022

Version 2022.2 brings updates to existing features of IMS FCM, mostly focused on drawings and flange design.

Highlights

Drawings integrated with flanges

IMSFB-29074

FCM now features a new “Drawings” grid where all drawings are available. A drawing can be imported from a 3rd party service such as AIM or SharePoint. Once inside IMS, FCM can be used to map flanges on the drawing.

  1. First button: To expand the drawing to full screen.
  2. Second button: To go to the “home” of a drawing, usually after zooming.
  3. Third button: For switching between black and white background.
  4. Fourth button: For mapping flanges on the drawing.

In order to map a flange, click the “PEFS” button. A list of mapped flanges will appear. To map a new flange, click on an element on the drawing and then right click the mouse. The option for mapping appears and allows you to select any flange in IMS.

Mapping a flange without exact location on a drawing

Please note: a flange can also be mapped to a drawing by clicking the “+” in the grid below. In this case, IMS does not know where the flange exactly is on a drawing, but it knows that the flange is somewhere on a drawing.

Once a flange is mapped, the relevant flange information will be shown below the drawing. From here, a job can be created. When a flange are connected to a drawing, the drawing will also be shown on the flange's job and condition history.

To remove a flange from a drawing, click on the “-“ button in the grid.

Flange design overview

IMSFB-29075

FCM now provides a clear list overview of all flanges in the database and their properties. Go to user settings to turn on the new view called “Design”. The new tab provides information such as flange standard, class, rating, size, stud size and other information about a flange, which is captured under “Flange Design” in the equipment details. All information can also be easily filtered with a wide range of options in the filter.

However, the main purpose of the new tab is not just to provide information, but to also to provide a way to calculate certain flange values. Click on the “Expand” button to get information about the flange overview – how many flanges there are with defined torque or tension value and from which source did it come from?

The charts in the “overview” tab are showing:

  1. How many flanges there are with defined torque or tension value vs flanges without any value
  2. From where torque or tension value came from (calculation or manual input)
  3. How many flanges have defined calculation
  4. Which calculation is used

In the second tab “Calculations”, all available calculation sheets and calculations are shown. The calculation sheet can be configured and used in FCM. Select a calculation sheet, like “PCC-1”, to start a new calculation or search for an existing one.

Once selected, calculation sheet is shown and ready for filling in. Depending on the selected calculation sheet, different calculus is shown with aim to get most suitable torque or tension value.

Calculations can be approved once done and then be assigned to flanges filtered in the grid below.

Other

Ability to define other flange type

IMSFB-26957

There is often a special case when it comes to flange types. For those occasions, FCM now supports the option to add any type of flange. Just select “other” as a flange type and a new field for typing is shown.

ISOLATION renamed to Cathodic Protection Isolation Kit

IMSFB-28158

For better clarity, “isolation” has been renamed to “Cathodic Protection Isolation Kit”.

New spec available: “MESC MATERIAL CODE”

IMSFB-20047

Both flanges and graylocs now have an additional new spec which can be captured: MESC MATERIAL CODE.
