Article summary

This article describes the two Fabric Maintenance-related Dashboards that are included by default in IMS:

  • Fabric Maintenance Dashboard; and,

  • FMA Areas Dashboard.

Fabric Maintenance Dashboard

The Fabric Maintenance Dashboard displays an overview of some of the key performance indicators associated with Fabric Maintenance AREA-FLOCS in IMS, including:

  • Schedules including counts per time period, and overdue Schedules;

  • Condition Histories including issues found, and status;

  • Checklist statuses; and,

  • Overview of Fabric Maintenance Areas.

To open the Dashboard:

  • Click Dashboard in the Main Menu.

  • Select Fabric Maintenance from the dropdown.

Navigate to the Dashboard Main Screen and select the Fabric Maintenance Dashboard.

FMA Areas Dashboard

The FMA Areas Dashboard is used to manage polygons corresponding to AREA-FLOCs, while displaying those areas on a 2D map of a Site. From the FMA Areas Dashboard, you can:

  • Create AREA-FLOCs;

  • Create, Edit, and Delete polygons associated with AREA-FLOCs.

  • Assign other FLOCs to AREA-FLOCs.

To open the Dashboard:

  • Click Dashboard in the Main Menu.

  • Select FMA Areas from the dropdown.

After opening the FMA Areas Dashboard, the Model Browser will be displayed, together with any polygons associated with AREA-FLOCs.

FMA Areas Model Browser Toolbar

The right-hand side of the FMA Areas Dashboard contains a toolbar including the following tools:

Opens the Filter dialog.

Model Browser

Opens the Model Browser to select model areas.

Manage FM Areas

Opens the FM Areas Management tool.

FMA Schedules

Open the FMA Schedules dialog.

Managing Fabric Maintenance Areas (FMA)

To use the FMA Areas Dashboard to manage Fabric Maintenance Areas:

  • Click the Manage FM Areas icon in the toolbar.

The FM Areas Management dialog will be displayed on the right hand side of the Model Browser. This tool allows you to:

  • Add New AREA-FLOCs, Manage AREA-FLOCs, and Edit Fabric Maintenance Area designs.

The list of AREA-FLOCs in the Manage FM Areas dialog identifies those AREA-FLOCs which have a polygon associated with them in the Model Browser. AREA-FLOCs with an assigned polygon are preceded with a green dash , those without a polygon are identified with a grey dash .

The polygons are displayed in light blue on the model browser.

Creating New AREA-FLOCs

To create a new AREA-FLOC using the FMA Areas Dashboard:

  • Click + New FMA at the bottom of the Manage FM Areas dialog.

The New FMA dialog will open. Next:

  • Enter a Name (AREA-FLOC ID) and FLOC Description.

  • Select a Parent ID (Unit) for the new AREA-FLOC using the search function.

  • Click Save.

Create a new AREA-FLOC.

Your new AREA-FLOC will be displayed in the list of FLOCs on the FLOC main page, and in the Manage FM Areas dialog in the model browser.

Assigning FMA Polygons to AREA-FLOCs

To assign an area polygon to an AREA-FLOC:

  • Select the AREA-FLOC from the list of FLOCs in the Manage FM Areas dialog.

  • Click + next to the FLOC name.

  • Using the cursor, create an outline of the area that you wish to assign to the AREA-FLOC. The area will be outlined in green.

  • Press the Enter key when you are satisfied with the shape of your area.

  • Lastly, click the green Save icon next to the AREA-FLOC. The outlined area will change color from green to light blue.

Draw an Area Polygon and click the Save icon.

Editing FMA Polygons

To edit an existing FMA Polygon:

  • Select the AREA-FLOC from the Manage FM AReas dialog.

  • Click the Edit icon to the right of the AREA-FLOC name.

Click the Edit Icon to Modify your Polygon.

  • Edit the FMA Polygon, as desired.

  • Click the green Save icon.

Unassigning FMA Polygons

To unassign, or delete an FMA polygon:

  • Select the AREA-FLOC from the Manage FM Areas dialog.

  • Click the delete icon.

  • In the dialog that appears, click Yes to confirm deletion.

Click the Delete icon to Unassign FMA Polygons.

Managing FMA FLOCs

Adding FLOCs to AREA-FLOCs

To add FLOCs to your AREA-FLOC:

  • Select the AREA-FLOC from the Manage FM Areas dialog.

  • Click Manage FMA FLOCs at the bottom of the list.

A list of FLOCs assigned to the selected AREA-FLOC will be displayed.

  • Click + Add to FMA.

  • Select the FLOCs that you wish to assign to your AREA-FLOC.

  • Click OK.

Select FLOCs to add to your AREA-FLOC. Click OK.

After assigning FLOCs to your AREA-FLOC, the selected FLOCs will be displayed in the Manage FMA FLOCs dialog, and in the FLOC/Equipment in Area grid list on the AREA-FLOC’s Details Page.

Removing FLOCs from AREA-FLOCs

To remove FLOCs from your AREA-FLOC:

  • Select the AREA-FLOC from the Manage FM Areas dialog.

  • Click Manage FMA FLOCs at the bottom of the list.

A list of FLOCs assigned to the selected AREA-FLOC will be displayed.

  • Select the FLOCs that you wish to remove from the AREA-FLOC.

  • Click - Remove from FMA.

Select FLOCs to Remove from FMA and click - Remove from FMA.

Editing Area Design for AREA-FLOCs

To edit the Area Design parameters for an AREA-FLOC:

  • Select the AREA-FLOC from the Manage FM Areas dialog.

  • Click Edit FMA Design at the bottom of the list.

The AREA-FLOC design dialog will be displayed.

  • Enter the design details for your AREA-FLOC (i.e. Total Surface, PEI Weight, Civil Weight, Condition).

  • Click Save.

Enter your Area Design details. Click Save.
