Step 12 Assign S-RBI Results to Inspection/Corrosion Schedules and/or update Monitoring Plan:

Below is explained how to implement Step 12 in the Software. See also Methodology Step 12.

Assign S-RBI Results to an Inspection Schedule

Link to an Inspection Schedule

To Link the Component/DM’s assessment to an Inspection Schedule:

  • Go to the S-RBI Analysis view and scroll down to the results table for all Component/DM assessments.

Go to the table containing all Component/DM S-RBI assessment results.

  • Find the row for the applicable Component/DM assessment.
  • In that row, click the Add to scope button.

  • Select the applicable Inspection Schedule from the list.
    • Check the Clear user date and interval box, if S-RBI should override any limiting date on the already scheduled inspection.
    • Click Save. The lightbox will close and you will receive a notification that the save operation was completed successfully.
Important
If the Clear user date and interval box is not checked, IMS will run the horserace between the S-RBI NID and the already Scheduled date.
  • Or click Create new Schedule.

Select the applicable Inspection Schedule from the list, or click Create new Schedule.

    Define Schedule

    When defining the Inspection Schedule:

    • Go to the applicable Inspection Schedule, e.g., click in the Inspection ID hyperlink in the popup window.
    • Go to the Scope and plan codes section to confirm that the Component/DM assessment was added to the Scope.
Confirm that the Component/DM assessment was added to the Scope.
  • To see all Component/DM assessments applicable to the Equipment, click the arrow to expand the view. If desired, you can change the selected Component/DM assessments, or add another assessment to the Scope.
To see all Component/DM assessments to for the Equipment, click the arrow to expand the view.
A screenshot of a cell phone Description automatically generatedClick What is planned? to select the Plan Codes and the Parts according to the S-RBI results.
  • Review/Update the Schedule Details section and specifically:
    • If the Schedule is a TA Candidate, ensure the box is checked. See Tying Schedules to Upcoming Events.
    • Ensure that the Ignore RBI Interval/NID box is unchecked if you do want the RBI Interval/NID to take part in the horserace.
  • Also Review/Update:

Approve Schedule

When done, Approve the Inspection Schedule. Note: When the Component/DM RBI assessment was added to the scope, the Schedule would have gone into Draft.

For more detail on Inspection Schedules, refer to PEI Schedules.

Optional: Edit / Defer Schedule

See Approving, Editing and Deferring Schedules (as well as Deferral Process for Schedules) for more information on this.

For Corrosion DMs: Assign S-RBI Results to a Corrosion Schedule

Link S-RBI IF to Circuit

For a Component/Corrosion DM assessment, to link the S-RBI IF to the Circuit:

  • Go to the associated Circuit detail page (see IMS Details Page).
  • In the Details section, find IF Strategy. Verify that this is set to “SRBI”.
  • Also verify that the RBI Component that was analyzed, is listed as an Inherit Component.
Verify the the Circuit’s IF Strategy is set to “SRBI” and the the Inherit RBI Component is selected.

  • If this is not the case, click Edit and set the inheritance by specifying the IF Strategy and Inherent Component.
  • Take note of the NID Calculation Method and change if desired.
  • The Ignore Calculation Interval is normally not checked. Note: If you do check this, neither the S-RBI IF nor any other IF will be used to calculate the NID. The NID will then always be time-based (IF = 0.5).
  • Click Save when done.

Specify Inspection Technique and Coverage

To Specify the required combination of inspection technique and coverage:

  • Refer to the applicable DM’s Required Inspection Effectiveness and resulting inspection technique and coverage as determined in Step 11. Also refer to the additional guidelines specified in Methodology Step 12, regarding the number and location of the CMLs.
  • In the Circuit’s Details section, click Edit.
  • Specify the inspection technique by selecting the Required Inspection Method from the dropdown list, and click Save when done. Note: The Technique can also be defined on CML level. More detail on the NDE examination can be added to the narrative of the Corrosion Schedule.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the Summary/Messages section.
  • On the CML tab, click + to create the Corrosion Measurement Locations (CMLs). Alternatively, import CMLs in bulk, via Settings \ Data Transfer \ Import Data (see Importing Data via Settings). Note: When creating the CMLs, you can specify the Required Inspection Method for each CML.
Create CMLs based on required Inspection Effectiveness and guidelines is Section 7.

For more information on CMLs refer to PEI Circuits and PEI Corrosion Calculations and Calc Summary.

Approve Calc Summary

To Approve the Calc Summary:

  • Scroll up to the Summary/Messages section. If you see no Summary, first click the refresh button to refresh the page.
  • Approve the Calc Summary. Note: When the RBI Component was linked, the Calc Summary would have gone into Draft.
A screenshot of a cell phone Description automatically generatedApprove the Calc Summary. This also Approves the Corrosion Schedule.

Note: When you have not done any inspections yet, the NID will be Time-Based. After the first inspection, the IMS Calculated NID will be determined. This is when the S-RBI IF starts playing a role.

Take Note
Normally this is all you need to do. The Corrosion Schedule is automatically approved when you Approve the Calculation Summary.

However, if you do want to change the Corrosion Schedule, e.g., indicate that it is a TA Candidate, extend the NID, or Specify a User Date, etc. then do the following:

Optional: Edit / Defer Corrosion Schedule

To open the Corrosion Schedule:

  • On the Circuit Details page: Scroll to the Schedules section and click on the Schedule hyper link to navigate to the automatically created Corrosion Schedule.

Refer to Approving, Editing and Deferring Schedules.

When you Review/Update the Corrosion Schedule, specifically consider:

When done, Approve the Schedule.
