Step 4 Start the RBI 581 Analysis

Prev Next

Below steps explain of to start an RBI 581 Analysis. As an example we look at the Degradation Mechanism EXTERNAL CHLORIDE STRESS CORROSION CRACKING (EXTCLSCC).

Starting RBI 581 Analysis

To start the RBI 581 assessment:

  1. First, create the Equipment. See also Step 1 Define the Asset (and set up the Hierarchy).

  2. Then create a Corrosion Loop (CL). See also Step 2 Identify Threats and Barriers (Define the CL).

  3. Add the Degradation Mechanism (DM) in the CL, e.g. “Chloride SCC External”.

  1. Next create a Component under your new Equipment and link your Corrosion Loop to that Component. See also Step 1 Define the Asset (and set up the Hierarchy).

  2. Next in either the Equipment Detail Page or Component Details Page click the RBI 581 button.

  1. You will be directed to the RBI 581 Detail Page for the specific Equipment. Here, you will see the Component, along with the Inspection History and Specs section.

  1. Below in the Degradation Mechanism section click New D.M.

  1. Select the DM. For this example we select the “Chloride SCC External” DM (this should have been added to the Corrosion Loop earlier).

  2. Click Save.

The RBI 581 calculation tabs will appear.

Caution

You will only be able to start the RBI analysis after specifying which Risk Calculation Method to use. Before doing this a warning will show here.

Now you can fill in the data for the Probability of Failure calculation.
