MiRO CMLs

Prev Next

You always need to define CMLs for your Circuit. This is where the Measurements will take place, at the Measurement Points (MPs).

Creating CMLs

  • Go to the Circuit Details Page.
  • Scroll down to the CML tab.
  • Click the Plus button.

  • Enter the required data in the pop-up window. See the table below.
  • Click Save when done.

The new Circuit will be created, and you will be redirected to the Detail Page of the CML that was just created.

Note
Your content goes hereYou can open a CML Details Page at any time by clicking on the hyperlink in the CML column on the CML tab in the Circuit Details Page.

CML pop-up (pay specific attention to the field indicated in bold):

Field
Description
CircuitThe Circuit ID. This should already be selected.

Sub Circuit

Sub-Group of the selected Circuit, for grouping similar CMLs within a Sub-Circuit. The Sub-Circuit-CML combination should be unique. If you do not want to group CMLs you can use this as a short description. It is a mandatory field.

CML

The CML ID. This will become a hyperlink in the CML grid that you can click to open the CML Details Page.

CML Type

Type of CML (e.g., PIPE, HEADER BOX, REDUCER, TEE, SHELL, CHANNEL, NOZZLE).

CML DescriptionThis can be used for an optional description (in addition to the Sub Circuit).

Must Get

Check if this CML must always be measured.

Position

Position of the CML in the Circuit.

MP ConfigurationFor MiRO Pipes, select the "Pipe - 6 x 1" configuration.
ActiveBy default the CML should be Active.
Piping ClassApplicable to Pipes. Select the Piping Class to set other parameters on the CML.
MaterialSelect from predefined list.
Nominal DiameterSelect a predefined Diameter.

Nominal WT

Nominal Wall Thickness for the CML.

Actual ODActual Outside Diameter

Renewal Thickness

Minimum Wall Thickness (WT) for the selected CML.

Renewal Basis

Renewal basis, either CALCULATED, FITNESS FOR SERVICE, NOMINAL MINUS CORR ALLOWANCE, STRUCTURAL MIN.

Required Inspection Method

Option to set a required Inspection Method (e.g. UT, RT) for all measurement for the CML (optional). Use UT-R for datalogger import and UR for the DIMATE-PACS interface.

Design Corrosion Allowance

Mandatory.

Assigning a Piping Class to a CML

When a CML is created you can assign a Piping Class to it.

The Piping Class sets:

  • Material
  • Available Nominal Diameters to select from

Then the selected Nominal Diameter – sets:

  • Nominal WT
  • Renewal Thickness (from Over. Renewal WT as defined in the Piping Class)
  • Actual OD (from Diameter as defined in the Piping Class)
  • Design CA (Corrosion Allowance)

This data comes from the Piping Classes that are defined in Settings.

Calculating Minimum Wall Thickness(TMIN)

The CML Details page allows you to calculate the Minimum Wall Thickness using the TMIN Calculators. These calculators are based on recognized industry standards, specifically ASME Section VIII (Vessels, Heat Exchangers) and ASME B31.3 (Process Piping). See Calculating Renewal Thickness with TMIN Calculator.

The CML Tab

The CML section provides a list of CMLs for the selected Circuit. The CML tab shows an overview of the CMLs. The CML grid columns are explained here.

The CML section is used to create and maintain the applicable CMLs for the selected Circuit. The grid shows a toolbar which can be used to do so.

Edit or

Cancel and Save

Edit or if in Edit mode the Cancel and Save buttons show. Save changes you made in the editable grid (such as Renewal Thickness, Renewal Basis or Nominal WT).

New and Delete

Create a new CML, which opens a new screen in which CML data for the new CML should be populated. Or Delete an Existing CML.

Export

Export the list of CMLs to a Microsoft Excel file.

Copy

Copy a selected CML.

Paste

Paste the copied CML as a new CML, measurements are not copied.

Move

Move (copy) CMLs to another Circuit. This way you can also move (copy) old wall thickness measurements to a "new Equipment". A recalculation will happen at both the origin and destination Circuit.

Select New Predefined MP

Opens the registered MPs for the CML and allows you to directly add other Measurement Point(s).

Show only selected

Check to show only the selected rows.

The CML Measurement History Tab

The CML Measurement History tab shows the list of Wall Thickness (WT) Measurements per actual Measurement Point (MP), performed in each Measurement Set (MSET) – Measurement date.

Click to show the legend. For more information also see MiRO Reviewing Errors and Warning (CML History tab).

Condense dates

When you have many CMLs, use this option to make one column per year.

You can use the filter to find specific CMLs. For example filter for CMLs with Warnings and Errors. For more information on the Measurement quality see MiRO Reviewing Errors and Warning (CML History tab).

The filter can be used to find Warnings and Errors.
