Assigning Special Emphasis to a Circuit or Inspection Schedule

A Special Emphasis can be assigned to a Circuit or an Inspection Schedule. This option is only available for Circuits and recurring Inspection Schedules belonging to Piping System Equipment or Pipe Equipment.

When a Special Emphasis is being assigned, and an RBI analysis has been performed, you should select a Special Emphasis class (e.g. A, B, C) that is aligned with the Inspection Strategy (IS) determined in the RBI analysis of the specific Special Emphasis Equipment, e.g., unstable Deadleg or Injection Point (IP).

Circuits

The Special Emphasis can be assigned, either when the Circuit is being created, or later, on the Circuit details page. Note: This field is only available for Piping System Equipment or Pipe Equipment.

The Special Emphasis can be assigned to a Circuit in the Circuit Details.

Once the Special Emphasis is assigned to a Circuit, the Circuit’s Corrosion Schedule will use the time interval set for this configuration as the Time-Based interval in the Circuit Calc Summary.

If no Special Emphasis is assigned to a Circuit, the Circuit’s Inspection Reason (combined with FLOC Type and Equipment Type) is used for setting the Default interval and Max interval.

Take Note
A Special Emphasis cannot be added or modified when there is a pending event for the Circuit, i.e., if there is an Inspection Event (e.g. Inspection Complete, Recalculation, Schedule Edit) which is not final Approved yet.

Inspection Schedules

A Special Emphasis can also be assigned to Inspection Schedules. This can be done, either when the Inspection Schedule is being created, or later, on the Schedule details page. Note: This field is only available for Recurring Inspection Schedules. Also, the Equipment, for which the Schedule is being created, must be of type Pipe or Piping System.
