This section of the Handbook aims to help you understand CMMS-related basic requirements and to guide you through the important aspects of interfacing IMS with a CMMS.
In the following sections, you can learn about the following topics:
Overview of IMS CMMS.
High level overview of IMS hierarchy.
General technical requirements for interfacing IMS with your CMMS.
Data alignment prerequisites.
Data alignment workflow.
The CMMS to IMS Interface.
the mandatory fields in IMS and CMMS for a successful interface, potential obstacles, and the process of data mapping.
Why do we interface with other systems?
Achieving excellence in asset management relies on having various software systems that are seamlessly connected and communicate effectively. While some interfaces are ready-made, others require customization to meet specific user needs. To facilitate this, Cenosco has developed its software with the capability to integrate with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), and other applications via the CenoscoAPI Interface.
However, before implementing these interfaces, several steps must be undertaken. These steps include gaining a general understanding of the IMS structure, fulfilling technical and data prerequisites, aligning data, and ultimately enabling the interface. While this process might appear straightforward, it demands significant commitment and effort to ensure high-quality data alignment between CMMS and IMS.
