RCM Equipment Overview

This section explains how you can create and manage Equipment in IMS RCM. Read on to learn how to do the following:

  • View and use the Equipment Main Screen (Grid List).

  • Create Equipment.

  • View and use the Equipment Details Page.

The RCM Hierarchy provides a visual representation of the IMS Hierarchy. Have a look to understand how objects in the IMS tool are related and where Equipment fits within the hierarchy.

A FLOC typically defines operating parameters such as flow rate, temperature, pressure, and fluid composition. In most cases, a FLOC contains one Equipment item identified by an Equipment ID. Some FLOCs cover more than one Equipment group. For example, Exchangers-FLOCs can contain two separate pieces of Equipment: a Bundle and an Exchanger.

Additionally, Equipment can contain Circuits and Components. Some data may be inherited from a higher hierarchy level. For example, Inspection Reason is inherited from the FLOC to Equipment and Circuits.

To register Equipment, see Creating new RCM Equipment

The Equipment Main Screen provides an overview grid containing a list of Equipment items (see RCM Equipment Main Screen).

You can configure Equipment on the Equipment Details Page. See RCM Equipment Details Page to learn about Schedules, Condition History, Inspection Locations, and more.
