Reviewing Barrier Statuses in the Software

Article summary

Barrier Review forms part of the Degradation Management process (see Step 13 Barrier Verification - Execute, Analyze, Document). The Barrier Statuses (as described in Barrier Status – Methodology) can be reviewed in various places in the software. Additionally, the IOW exceedances can be reviewed and analyzed. This gives and indication of the Barrier health. 

All absent and partly absent (compromised) Barriers (Red and Amber) should be risk ranked (according to the S-RBI results). This information can then be used to determine which Barriers to maintain and when. CAIRs or other mitigating actions should be in place for all absent and compromised Barriers. 

Reviewing the Barrier Statuses in the CL

To Review the Barrier Statuses in the CL:

  • Open to the applicable Corrosion Loop. See IMS Details Page Options.
  • Scroll down to the Degradation Management section.
  • Review the Indicator cards, as well as the Mitigation cards.
  • Click Show all to see all the Indicators as well as the Actions Planned.

  • For more information on the Indicator’s Status, click the information icon.
Click on the information icon on the Indicator card, to see more information on the Status. 

Resetting the Process Data Indicator Status

The Process Data Indicator status does not reset automatically. You need to reset the status when the problem is fixed:

  • Click on the Process Data Indicator card’s status.
  • Select the new Status.

NoteExceedances will now only be calculated from this point onwards (older exceedances will be ignored).

Overwriting a Barrier Status

If needed, you can also overwrite a Barrier status. To overwrite a Barrier status:

  • Click on the Barrier card’s fold-out bar.
Click on the Barrier card’s fold-out bar.

 

  • Select a Status from the Barrier Status overwrite drop-down and click Save.
To overwrite, select a different Barrier Status.

 

  • Enter a reason for the change in the pop-up that appears, and click Save.

CMF Main Menu – Lean Overview

Click CMF in the IMS top Menu to go to the CMF main screen for a lean overview of all CMF data records.

Here you can also filter for the desired CMF records, e.g. filter on Barrier Risk. For more information on filters see IMS Main Screen (Grid List) Options.

You can filter the CMF records on Barrier risks.

 

CMF-Modernized Dashboard

Click Dashboard in the top Main Menu and select the 'CMF-Modernised' Dashboard to review Barrier risk rankings. Here you can, for instance, review the “Red Barrier Types and Risk” chart. Note: The chart colors are aligned with the RAM matrix.
