Article summary

Take note

This overview will explain how to add Tasks and Subtasks to Task Templates.

Once the Task Template is created and the Conditions under which it should be used set, the next step is to add Tasks and Subtasks. These Tasks are designed to be executed during Inspections, Assessments, Maintenance, and Repairs and are grouped in a Task Template to facilitate adding them to relevant Schedules and ECHs.

Tasks and Subtasks are added to Task Templates via the Task Templates Editor Task & Subtask section.

Adding Tasks to Task Templates

To add Tasks to Task Templates:

Click the Plus button to add a Task.

A pop-up window will open.

  • In the Task field, click on the Magnifying glass.

  • From the Activity pop-up window, select the applicable Activity or use the Search bar to find one. Note: Activities are defined under Settings \ Maintenance \ Schedules \ Activities.

  • Click OK.

  • Enter data in the remaining fields. See the table below.

  • Click Save.

Adding Subtasks to Task Templates

When adding Subtasks to the Task Template, a Parent Task must be assigned to each subtask in the template. To add a Subtask to the Task Template:

  • Follow the instructions provided above for adding Tasks to Task Templates.

  • In the Parent Task field, select the Task under which you want the Subtask to be categorized. Note: Only the Tasks already added to the Task Template will be available for selection in the drop-down menu.

Choose one of the available options in the Parent Task field to add the Subtask under that Task.

  • Click Save.

Take Note

In the Tasks & Subtasks section of the Task Template editor, as well as in the Schedule Task section on the Schedule Details page, subtasks are visually distinguished from Tasks by an Arrow in the “#” column. This Arrow indicats their association with the Parent Task above, which will instead display a number in the “#” column.
